The documentary "Bartolomé Bermejo. The awakening of a genius", a production of Albella Audiovisual, was one of the outstanding films at the 14th edition of the Simón Awards for Aragonese Cinema, held on May 28th at the Teatro Principal in Zaragoza. The work won the award for Best Documentary and its director, José Manuel Herraiz, also received the award for Best Cinematography for his work on the same film.
The documentary, which explores the life and work of Gothic painter Bartolomé Bermejo, had previously been nominated in nine categories, including production direction, editing and screenplay. At the same gala, "The bue star", by Javier Macipe, was the big winner with eight awards, including Best Feature Film, Direction and Screenplay.
